Atlanta, GA — Hallway Plumbing is proud to announce its participation as a Dream Maker Sponsor in the 40th Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project, a landmark event hosted by Habitat for Humanity that brought together more than 1,000 volunteers from around the world to build 24 homes in Atlanta’s historic Sylvan Hills neighborhood — all in just five days.
As a Dream Maker Sponsor, Hallway Plumbing facilitated the procurement and supply of plumbing fixtures for all homes built during the project. A special thank-you goes to Gerber and Moen, whose generous support made this possible — both manufacturers extended significant discounts well below cost, allowing Hallway to fulfill its Dream Maker commitment and deliver quality fixtures to every home. Members of Hallway’s apprenticeship team, alongside company President Ben Riggle, were also on-site throughout the week as hands-on volunteers — rolling paint, finishing interiors, and standing shoulder-to-shoulder with volunteers from across the globe.
The Carter Work Project is one of Habitat for Humanity’s most celebrated annual events, honoring the legacy of President Jimmy Carter and First Lady Rosalynn Carter. Over its history, the initiative has mobilized more than 108,000 volunteers to build 4,447 homes across 14 countries. This year’s Atlanta event marked the 40th anniversary — a milestone made even more meaningful by the opportunity to invest in the city Hallway Plumbing calls home.
The need in Atlanta is real. With a median home price around $400,000 and a median household income of approximately $89,500, only about 75% of what’s needed to afford a stable, affordable home, remains out of reach for thousands of families. Habitat homeowners don’t receive homes for free; they earn the opportunity through sweat equity and pay an affordable mortgage, making each home a foundation for long-term stability and generational change.
